Mitsubishi Motors is a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation in Japan with a history that dates back as far as 1917. The company was established by Yataro Iwasaki who also chose the logo of three red diamonds. The name Mitsubishi is a union of Japanese words Mitsu meaning ‘three’ and Hishi which literally mean water chestnut which is often used to denote a diamond.
